The free first build: what it is and who qualifies

The offer

We build the first working version of one process for free. Not a mockup and not a slide deck: a system your staff use, on phones and on the web, with your data in it. You decide afterwards whether to continue, and you owe nothing if you stop.

Why we do it

Custom software is bought on trust, and a company that has sat through a long rollout has no reason to extend it. A free first build replaces the pitch with the thing itself. It costs us days rather than months, because every build starts on a platform already running in production, and it tells both sides quickly whether the work is going to suit. A company that has watched its own process run on a real system makes a better decision than one that has watched a demo.

How we decide who qualifies

We say yes when the first build is likely to be used. In practice that means:

An established company with a real operation: field teams, sites, documents that get signed, staff who carry phones.
One process with a clear start and end, that runs every week, and that one named person owns and will spend a morning on with us.
A pain the owner can describe with a recent example: the delay, the duplicate or the lost job.
Reach: in person in Kuching and across Sarawak; remote, with site visits, for Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah.

We say no when the process is standard and a product already does it well, when the company wants a quote for a whole system before anyone has used part of it, or when nobody inside the company owns the process. A no comes with the reason.

What happens after you apply

You send us the company, the process and the person who owns it, on WhatsApp or by email; the four-line template is on the qualify page. We reply within 48 hours with a yes, a no, or a question. If it is a yes, we spend a morning with the owner and the people who do the work, then build. The first version is usually in staff hands within days to two weeks, and we adjust it with them from there. What continuing looks like

If the first build is used, the next step is a conversation about the next process and a price. We put a price on each module and on keeping the platform running, in writing, before you decide, so the decision is made with the first build in hand and the cost on paper. Nothing is billed for the first build itself, whichever way you decide.

What we ask of you

One person who owns the process and can give us a morning. Access to the people who do the work, at the site if that is where it happens. Honest feedback in the first two weeks, including the parts that do not fit. That is the whole cost, and it is also what makes the build worth having.
